Flogging Molly and Nathen Maxwell

Note: This is NOT a "OMFG GET A BETTER BASSIST" thread.

So I am a huge fan of Flogging Molly, they were the first concert I've ever been to, got me through some hard times, got me through some drunk times, etc etc.

You can't hear Nathan's bass really well through the songs but when you can it mostly sounds like...

Bum Bum Dum Dum
or
Bum Dum Bum Dum

Going with the drum beats.
So he is a punk bassist he keeps it simple, and it works, thats why I love Flogging Molly, each member is not incredibly technical/advanced, it's just simple playing that when it's all combined sounds better than allot of the technical bands.

Does he really play any other sort of rhythm (besides going up scales etc) in the songs?
What do you guys think about it in general?

I have seen Floggin' Molly a couple times, and I can say, even though I am generally not a fan of either Irish music or punk music, they kick a lot of ass for what they do. For Nathen to do anything different from what he is doing now would be silly - they have everything working. I'll be see them again on St. Patty's day here in Tempe... it should be a riot!
