Question Forget Tavis, it was Charlie Rose.. Fat Bass Line included this time!

I thought this played at the end of Tavis Smily, which is what my roommate told me she was watching when I heard the bassline the first time.. I came to find out that it wasn't Tavis at all, but actually was the music that plays during the credits of Charlie Rose..

Anyhow, I managed to get a recording tonight.. The main thing I'm interested in is which kind of bass might have been used to record this.. Anybody have a guess? I like how it sounds! It would be cool to know who the bassist is as well if anyone might know!

.....Here's a link to the credit music.....

Kinda reminds me of the synth bass tone in the "Seinfeld" theme.

Well I play a lot of synth bass but you can tell because of the tone and the attack, although I have heard guys get that type of tone with a electric with new strings

+1, or possibly a Roland U20 or any of the other early-mid '90s sample-playing keyboards. You can tell partly because there are exactly two distinct tones, "fingerstyle" and "slap", and each note that is one or the other voicing does not change at all in timbre or quality as different notes are played. Also if you played one of these keyboards back in the day you'd be instantly familiar with the sound.

I did notice how "clean" the notes sounded, each one seeming to be hit perfectly, or as you describe "without any change to the timbre or quality".. Interesting stuff, thanks for helping enlighten me guys!
