Frank Fayad

First thread on him. I only recently discovered his work with the band LOVE (Arthur Lee). He's on a couple albums circa 1969. Here's a standout song from the LP "Four Sail". Dig the bass tone. I thought maybe a Maestro Brassmaster, but, I believe it's just good old fashioned overdrive.

Xlnt video quality clip of the same song done LIVE in Denmark, 1970:

And another track from the same LP. California Pop at its best:

'bout time we showed Frank Fayad some love!

I saw the name Frank Fayad and it rang a bell but I have to say I'd forgotten about him. Arthur Lee was some kind of musical genius and Love recorded much memorable music. Ken Forssi was the band's original bassist and I don't think he was any slouch either (though possibly not in the same class as Fayad). "Forever Changes" would make my desert island list if I had to make tough choices. Thanks for bringing this up.

Agreed on "Forever Changes". If 60's Pop is your bag, it's right up there with Sgt. Peppers and Pet Sounds. I confess I only heard it for the first time last month and it's on constant rotation around here. I heard it was #41 on Rolling Stones greatest albums of all time. I have to pay more attention to lists!
