ok, after my ill-thoughtout sadowsky topic, i did a search to see if I could find a question like this. And that is who all played bass for Gambale stuff? I know Alain Caron did some stuff, and he and Stu Hamm did a project, and i'm assuming other bassists recorded with him on his stuff, so who all recorded with him?
-Jon
P.S. - If there was a search on this exact topic please give me a link

I believe the original poster asked about bassists on Frank's projects and not all the bassists he's played with on other projects. Quote:

I think I prefer the early Gambale records...there's a live album (in the same time frame as Brave New Guitar) with Steve Kershisnik on bass that's very good...and probably OOP.
What I noticed about Gambale is his compositions..."Schmooze" (fron Note Worker) is very happening (& a happenin' cover is done by then-fellow Electrik band Eric Marienthal on Crossroads).

Before I got a CD player, it was only avaliable on CD. I saw Gambale do a guest slot at a Guitarist magazine show in 89, and he was awesome so I picked up the CD.
My fusion credentials are still pretty basic, but at the time I was totally out of my depth listening to that album. It took me months (after I got a CD player!) to get my head around the album.
I've got a few Gambale CD's (mostly early stuff - nothing very recent), and "Live" stands out - they basically just rock out for the whole album. Loads of energy and exuberance - a lot of fusion stuff just sounds noodley, but this album is just total commitment. Once I stopped listening for the noodle, and listended to the power I started to "get" what it was about.
I thought is was Steve Kershisnik on bass, and was considering going to check - thanks for saving me the effort :-)
