I think I saw Jeff Bridges playing an Ibanez hollowbody bass thru an ampeg stack at guitar center in sherman oaks a few weeks ago.

In fact there are clips out there...

On the DVD The Best of the Muppet Show with Elton John, Julie Andrews, and Gene Kelly DVD, one of the extras is "Muppet Moments," a one minute skit called "Floyd: The Groove Master." It feature bass player Floyd jamming along to a dancing Kermit.

Dude played a Jazz... who knew?
And apparently he could play left handed and right handed. That's amazing.

I hate for my first post here to be a small correction, but here goes anyway...

When Jimmy Page joined the Yardbirds he did originally play bass. However, this was quite late in their career and he replaced original Yardbirds bassist Paul Samwell-Smith. Shortly afterwards, guitarist Chris Dreja switched to bass leaving Jimmy & Jeff Beck as twin guitarists (for a little while). Page can be seen miming with a bass in the film Blow Up

Since this is bass player trivia of a sort, Chris Dreja also took the photograph used on the back cover of the first Led Zeppelin album.

It is just what I read in a search for facts! This is why I posted this thread in the first place. I wanted to learn more about different bass players. Who would have thought - JIMMY FRICKEN PAGE

In some obscure movie (the name escapes me at the moment) you can see Stanley Clarke playing a guitar in a recording studio . . . funny thing is he plays it exactly like he plays bass.

Jack Johnson (the heavyweight boxer that Miles Davis named an album after, not the bland singer/songwriter) played DB.

Arsenio Hall was a bass player and sometimes jammed with his band.

Benicio Del Toro worships Jaco. Anyone know if he plays?

In Easy Come, Easy Go, Elvis picks up a late 60s P-bass with flats. No strap. He holds the bottom cutaway with his fingers and thumbs the strings. Bad left hand technique too.

Jackie Gleason helped Milt Hinton crack the New York studio scene in the early 50s.

Didn't Eddie Van Halen play bass on a Sammy Hagar solo album?

Jammed with who's band - his own, Miles' or...Jack Johnson's?
