Any of you boys and girls familiar with the band the Motet from Colorado? Their bassist Garrett Sayers is a badass Very percussive Jazz! I picked up their lastest album on a hunch, and I'm very impressed! If you see their album at a independent music store, check Garrett and the band out
I have met Garrett, really nice guy he let me play around with his bass one night while they were setting up at a show in Denver back in '02. I'm not certian but I think I may have opened up for them that same year(that bar where we played was generous with the beer so that could have something to do with my failing memory )
I saw the motet a couple summers back at Nedfest in Nederland, CO. It was awesome. I was really surprised. They're a tight band. I've been trying to see them again every since but it's never worked out. Can't wait to see them again. Garrett has so much style, it's insane.
