One of the main reasons I picked up the bass was Geddy/Rush.
Saw the Time Machine Tour last Monday. awesome show.
I would like to request Geddy Club #43.
Anybody want to guess why?

That's the first part of 5.
Geddy says he tried to bring out the Ric, but couldnt get it to sound like he wanted, so he's just playing the Jazzes, as usual.

| | | | I want in!!! Geddy was my "teacher" I learned how to play by teaching myself Rush stuff.
If you listen close to some of my band's songs, you'll find a few little tributes to one, if not the best rock bassist of all time in most of the basslines. I'm going to the Time Machine Tour Atl. stop Sep. 29th!!! BOO YAH!!!!!! I'll take number X-1 please. |

And now I'm playing Freewill for an IB assessment! Was gonna request number X-1, but I was beaten to it, so I'll be happy and numberless.

I saw Rush for the first time around 1977 as the opening band for Boston at Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati and I've been a Geddy fan ever since.

I became a fan when 'Signals' came out. I was at that age most kids start to get into music. After digging it on a little transistor radio, I got a real gen-u-wine RECORD PLAYER for Christmas and went out and got 'Signals', and that '2112' thing since it looked like their 'popular' album down at the record store. A few years and several Rush records down the road, my friends and I all got into playing the guitar and since jamming with like 5 guitarist was silly, and because I loved the Geddy bass lines...I made the switch and am happy to have done so.
I want to be # 7/4

I don't join clubs on TB but I just have to share this..after 30 years of loving this band, got to meet Geddy and Alex in Austin, Tx. a couple of weeks ago- not at a meet and greet. Great guys, VERY gracious, even thanked me for the support! I'm not sure that I would have become a bass player in 1980 if it weren't for Rush.

| | | | Ever since the DVD "Beyond the Lighted Stage" came out I've been checking out a lot of interviews with Geddy on You Tube.
He's everything a successful man should be. Humble and not a trace of arrogance. Then thing I couldn't help but notice from the DVD was how confindent he always came across. Confindent but not at all arrogant. He's a great man and a wonderful musician.
I know guys who are still in bars that are about as arrogant as you can get. They could learn a LOT from Geddy. |
