He is still on their website in the rotating ad part on the homepage. I love the fact that he is playing them, I just wish that it was all that he was playing (i.e. no mixing in of his DI setup)

Robes. But not mystical looking ones. Gross bathrobes.

Live, it sounds almost like pure Sans Amp RBI. And that's okay.

And yes, I want one of those rock kimonos made from silk (2112) or like SRV or Heart used to wear. You know, the kind where you pick a leg for your junk. It would probably make my wife gag.

Scene: Suburban front yard. A group of kids are playing. An old man with long hair in a silk kimono comes running out onto the front stoop, holding onto a doubleneck Rickenbacker.

Old Man in Kimono: "Hey kids! Get off my lawn!"

He is using them, from the ad, probably to sit on before he goes back out to to the encore Great head though and great musician.

I havent gotten to see them on the Time Machine tour (yet) but others have said that his tone sounds more like the Different Stages era where he did use real amps mixed with DI, and not just the straight buzzsaw Sansamp. He should really ditch the Sansamp and get his overdrive from real tubes!

I agree.

Beyond the fact that he sounds way better this tour, how does he justify several thousand pounds worth of Dryers, vending machines and chicken roasters?
Amps weigh less and sound way better.

I wish he would ditch the J for at least a couple of songs and break out the Ric. Ampwise, drop the Sans Amp for some vintage SVT's and and a couple of Marshalls. Wishful thinking, I guess.
