I realize he isn’t a typical bassist to admire, but I really dig what he adds to this group. His playing is extremely basic and non-flashy. It just simply works for the textures they are making. It seems like he uses very earthy tones. The two times I have seen them live he has used some sort of Ampeg fliptop and a p-bass with flats. (Or a double bass seen in the video below)
