Didn't know whether to post this here or in the Strings forum, so mods feel free to move it if you think its necessary.

Does anyone know what kind of strings Mr. Porter regularly uses?

Edit:
Oops, nevermind, found it via search. Feel free to close. Sorry gang.

I'd like to know what he used back in the day. The old Meters studio stuff definitely sounds like he's on flats.

originally

George played flats with a pick on the Meters' "pre-vocals" recordings- Cissy Strut being the one everyone seems to know. He started with a Precision, IIRC, then used a telecaster style Fender bass with round wounds in the mid seventies, finger style.

Go to New Orleans & ask him..
