I'm not sure if anyone here listens to this program on NPR, but it's a fun little show that I catch on my mid morning Saturday drives, and was surprised when they introduced George Porter. He didn't play (not the focus of the show) but it was an entertaining bit. Here's the link:

I heard it, and enjoyed it! btw last week, on his facebook page, he said the Running Partners played San Antonio, forget which day, and there was an audience of only 38 people! They still gave it all they had, he said.

I find it SO hard to believe that so few came out to hear them, but I went to see him in SF a few years ago at the Galaxy (a now defunct club) and the place was not even half full! Guess people just don't know what they are missing.

Thanks for the link. George Porter, Jr. is not only one of the best bass players today, but he is also a very nice and kind gentleman. Last time he was in ATL (a couple of years ago), he played to a packed house. He plays quite regularly in the NOLA area.

That was fun, George has a natural, self deprecating wit. Although the high spot for me was the "that's what Houston's for" quotes. Thanks for posting.
