talk about some thumb control... crazy stuff! I need to slow some of that down to shed that technique.

Funny, the italian courses that I took in college did me no good apparently .

Funny, Gianni Serino is one bald Italian bass virtuoso with a six string.

Then there's Domenico Citriniti...

I'm beginning to see a pattern here...

Most interesting playing I have seen in a long time. He is self-taught! He may be the best in the world...

Gianni Serino

I love this guy, his chops are off the hook - here's the problem tho:

Yawn - entertaining for 30 seconds and swings about as much a stone statue.

Looks like he has adapted the banjo technique to the bass. Sounds great

Gianni serino plays a simple Yamaha TRB that he made modify according to his aesthetic and technical requirements. Here (:: Riparazioni@RediVivus - www.maribyredivivus.it ::) you can check the entire process of "restiling" of his bass, made by some of the best luthiers here in Italy.
About the pickups, he use MAMA pickups (www.mamapickups.com)
