I can't believe I just found this thread! I've been lurking for awhile and have bought and sold. It's funny how many guys have called me *dude* on here. I just laugh and move on.

If you new girls want numbers, just let me know.

Fedoras are cute, but not for me personally. I hate stuff on my head. Or around my neck, for that matter. I also can't play with bracelets on. I always seem to take them off mid-first song. Of course, it's been so long since I played, I probably can't play at all anymore anyways!

I've lurked this forum for a million years (it seems every Google inquiry I've had regarding the instrument landed me here ) but only just registered

It's nice to see this particular club going! I'm a girl bassist myself, not been playing for long and only just now getting into band-type stuff but it's a blast! I feel like I was influenced by "boy" bassists for awhile though, and I didn't really notice until after I'd been playing for a bit that there was such thing as the "token girl bassist" haha

ANYWAY here's Delancey! My only bass, but I love her

They treat you like one of the guys, too? One of my bandmates held open the door to the men's room once for me. The look on his face when he realized what he'd done was priceless.

Lately, I've been working on songs, but have been lax in working on my lessons. :/ There's only so much time in the day for us working girls!

Can I join? I've only been playing a month but plan on sticking with it... practicing everyday and going to lessons every week.

Hi everyone new! I'll get numbers to you by the end of the weekend. Yes, only so much time in the day. But glad to see new girls on here!

Not ignoring you, GGirl. It would take a book. I'll type later on my laptop. On my iPod now.

Haven't forgotten you all. Just been busy. But giving this a bump because it was getting too far down to find easily!

So, what have you all been playing lately?

I apologize if I ever called any of you gals "dude." But you know, it's a little hard to tell some of you by a nondescript SN. And now we have a couple female impersonators on here...the internet kind...female name but male. We have plenty of the other kind, too, but they're pretty obvious

No problem here, JimmyM. I usually say guys to everyone, as in "I haven't forgotten about you guys" in the previous post. I changed it, but I'm sure ill get over it and revert.

I hope I can join this girls' club too!
I started playing bass a few months ago (perhaps April or May 2012). A girlfriend of mine was in a band and they needed a bass player.. so I tried it, then started taking lessons... Now here I am. Slowly.. slowly getting better.

I've been playing piano since I was a child, clarinet in highschool... and when I had the opportunity to play the guitar (in highschool) I had no desire to want to learn. Who would have thought I would be playing bass LOL!

What are the genders of the groups that the girls here are in? With me its two girls and two guys... and quite the racially diverse group too. We all get along pretty well.. but I do see the difference of opinions and feelings about the band between the two genders. Sometimes it's a little too much.

Anyway... any advice for balancing the gender gap with boy/girl groups would be great!
