I love this guy's playing, I know Eric Czar isn't playing bass for him anymore (shame..). Anybody know who the new bassist is? It will be an awesome show for sure!

All I know is that last time I saw him, last July, his bassist was from Maui, Hawaii. Don't know much more about him.

Enjoy the show, Joe never disappoints...

I just saw Joe a couple months ago, with the new bassist. I do miss Eric Czar (saw him twice a couple years ago, opening for B.B. King ), but the new guy is a great player. Super good groove and some hot solo licks too. Don't remember his name, but he played a 5-string Sadowsky most of the show, and sounded killer! And Joe is amazing as always.

And Eric Czar is off doing his own solo project now, playing 6 and 7-string bass. Check out his myspace page, awesome sounding stuff

Yah, I hit up Eric Czar a few times on myspace but he isn't a very big chatter.. He did tell me what pedal he used on "Had to Cry today" and now I will be getting one. Maxon Flanger....good sounding pedal.

Just wanted to say that I went and it was honestly one of the better shows I have seen in a long time. So this is a plug for Joe. If you like power blues, go check this guy out. Mark Epstein is the guy on bass, he has a book out and has done lots of studio work, touring with other artists', etc.. Some really good basslines and he did have some good solo chops as mentioned by another person in this thread. I did really like Eric Czar better because he really like to step outside the lines IMO (throw in some slap and tap, fast runs, etc) and it kept things pretty interesting. Nothing wrong with the good old blues basslines and Mark Epstein was very good. I would say a real mature bassist who kept all the fundamentals in place at all times. Worth seeing, check them out if you have a chance.

Mark played with Johnny Winter for years, he even filled in for me with the Voodoo Suns when I was in the hospital, great player.
