Good piece in the WSJ on Tinnitus

(Not sure which forum fits this...)

If you don't have Tinnitus now, count yourself as either young or lucky; If you're young, WEAR EAR PROTECTION - this is no BS. For the rest of us, there is new research coming out of OIF/OEF:

Great post BigOlHarry, and good advice. Hearing protection may seem uncool, but hearing loss and the constant ringing is waaaaay more uncool. Take it from a 52 year old with a constant 2k whistle tone who responds to peoples conversations with "huh?"

I have sleep apnea, and the soft whirr of my CPAP machine actually helps mask it at night. In a silent environment, the whistle is remarkably loud.
