Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree is a fantastic fretless player. Check out the "Lightbulb Sun" album. Pretty much everything he played on that album and previous albums were fretless. Now he mixes it up and plays fretless and fretted.

These are all great recs, but I'd like to point out that A Sceptic's Universe was all played on a fretted bass. That being said, the bassist (Lars Norberg) does play some cool fretless on Ihsahn's angL.

Amazingly, I was going to recommend this one. I can't believe you already mentioned it, since it's so obscure.

While we're talking Manring, the DeManIa album is also pretty good.

Almost all of the stuff from Deadwing on is on a fretted. Maybe a few exceptions on The Incident.

Thanks Winegamd! Getting right into OSI from your post. I ordered all their albums, some great stuff.

And Sean Malone, I had no idea! Where have I been?

He made a blog post about it a few years ago. It's a fretted Steinberger Q4.

Anything by Porcupine Tree. If you want a specific album, start with Signify.
