Welcome!
Since we have some new discussion, I'll share that I'm going to be on the floor on the 30th! Who's doing which shows for NYE run?

You boys have fun with the NYE run. Honestly, I saw this years Atlanta show and thought it was just a weak show (although a weak Phish show is almost any other bands best attempt). One bad show in 87 isn't really a bad track record. So I decided not to pursue getting New Year's tickets this year. I know the shows are gonna rock and New Year's shows have always been fun for me. This year I'm gonna do Umphrey's run here in Atlanta. I've seen Phish, WSP, moe., Merle Saunders (whom I got to play with at the show), Leftover, and Bisco New Year's shows but never UM. I will be checking my phone during setbreaks to see Phish's setlists though. Once again, be safe and have phun

Atlanta was the weakest show (geez those words sound odd together) I've seen in a long time. Pelham the night before was a rock show. I think a lot of it is Lakewood... they just don't seem to enjoy it as much as Alpharetta. And Verizon is an exponentially better venue in everyway IMO.

I'll see y'all at NYE. Snagged 2 GA west for 31st and 2 200s for the 30th. All from the lotto!

If anyone's got extra 28 or 29 let me know!

Hey guys. Dumb question: what is the meaning of the cactus reference? I like Mike and met him way back in 1988 (Amherst College party) but missed the cactus thingy.

I am sure it is humorous.

Have pity on me....

Ha! Thanks bro, I was hoping it was something nice and simple. Mike is not one for flash, is he?

I have an old Doniac Schvice from the early 90's somewhere at home that I remember there being a rundown of how Mike got the nickname. It was like a stream of consciousness, alliteration thing. If I come across it I will post my findings...

Is anyone jamming Star Lake 98 right now, it was my first show and the Runaway Jim is incredible. Other highlights for me was the Trench Town Rock intro(first time played) Wolfmans Brother (whole song is tight but the last 6 min are super funky) and Meat ( love that song) anyway I’m so happy to have my first how released on DVD. It means a lot as a true phan plus with no instant release like they do now I have had nothing but crappy copies. If you didn’t order it, it’s on Spotify also. To me this show is what it’s all about from the style to the improv.

Sorry, me and my tour buddy are gonna be right up front.

Funny to think I could put these up for $1000 a piece on stubhub.

Yes it is, im not one to be all type 1, 2, or 3 but you can clearly hear a difference. IMOP i will take all types aslong as they keep doing what they do.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could name these two pieces of gear that Mike used on the Summer 2012 tour.

The first one is next too his left shoulder and looks like some sort of advanced graphical EQ:

The second is in the bottom of the rack pictured and has four large blue circular lights:

Anyone?
