Who was the bassist on The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? Both versions the same guy? (you know, the one with the electric guitar parts and the other with the keyboards).
If anyone could tell me that would be cool.

Had the chance to him in concert last year (looks like it'll be one of Gord's last tours)... Absolutely the BEST backing band I have EVER seen.
Each member of that band could have walked all over Lightfoot live, but every one of them held back and supported the artist. The bassist and drummer were so tight and in the pocket that it sounded like a machine...
THAT comes from years and years of working together...
Here's a link if you want more info: http://www.lightfoot.ca/profiles.htm
Thanx!!!

"Three Chord Gord" they used to call him... He was very arrogant as a young performer. Sometimes he would barely acknowledge the audience!
But his talent as a songwriter is unparallelled - many of his tunes have been covered by top 40 artists, including Elvis.
But to see him perform "Edmund Fitzgerald " live - it gave me chills... And that lead guitar line IS smokin'!!!
