Govt. Mule, Red House recorded live

I recently came across a recording of the Mule playing Red House (blank tape). Which album, and who's playing those juicy bass lines? Last week, I heard on the local jazz station, the Mule's version of "Catfish Blues", featuring Billy Cox on bass. Was this from "Off the Deep End"? I don't know anything about GM, looks like I'll have to look into them..............Great music!

Catfish Blues was off Deep End, Red House is something they've been doing live since the band got started. Can't tell ya who's playing it without hearing it, but my guess is if the bass sounds like a big deep rumble with a bit of distortion on it, it's Allan Woody, who was a real whiz.

You want kickass Gov't Mule bass stuff, check out the song 'Mule!'
