Great Bass and Guitar combos

Sign in to disble this ad
Who to you are important Bass and Guitar combos where they were increadibly complimentary with each other rather than one in a totally supportive role.

I'm thinking the likes of...

Andy Rourke & Johnny Marr (The Smiths)
Bernard Edwards & Nile Rogers (Chic, production etc)
Duck Dunn & Steve Cropper (Stax Records)

+1 to Marr and Rourke. They made the Smiths so much more than Moz.

Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan.
Eat'em and Smile has perhaps the most daring guitar+bass stunts ever recorded.

I'll get flamed for this, but Sixx and Mars. Everything they play together is tasteful and for the song.
Oh, and Sheehan/Vai. EPIC win.

I don't even really like GnR, but I gotta say Slash/Mckagan, so complementary.

Sting and Andy Summers. Not the greatest bass player in the world, but Summers' choice of voicings really made that duo click.
