I would add Leland Sklar and Roscoe Beck to the list as finger-style bassists who have inspired me over the years. Also, one who's rarely mentioned but knocks me out every time I hear him is Nick Seymour from Crowded House, a master of melodic, supportive bass playing.

did you get to listen to some of his stuff? I had my lesson with him was really cool and did a lot of good for my playing and even more for my practising attitude! I got the SHT DVD and it is pretty impressive they sound brilliant in both shows and the energy is there!
