I first saw dead letter circus at the butterfly effect concert this year. I was amazed by the bass player Stewart Hill, he had so many great riff techniques like using many chordal pattern strums and volume swelling to effect an amazing effect. He also does some amazing slap work in one of their songs - Lines. I picked up their album yesterday and havent stopped listening to it. He uses a Warwick Thumb 5 string bolt-on and a swr sm-900 live. Definetley check these guys out go to their myspace www.myspace.com/deadlettercirucs. You will be amazed. |

Had the pleasure of doin a few shows with them, and he's certainly a fantastic bassist. Standout track on the album, particularly from a bass point of view is Alien....
And Kim's vocals are simply some of the best I've heard!

Stu used my cabs on friday night, and it was great to hear his tone coming out of them. He's got a very very fast right hand, judging from some of the noodling he was doing during soundcheck...very impressed!!

Super fluid playing, great lines, incredibly chewy burpy tone. Check out the tunes here, and I'm really upset I can't buy the new album in the US yet! http://www.myspace.com/deadlettercircus
Really loving Karnivool and DLC the last month. Great finds for me!

Karnivool, Cog, Dead Letter Circus, Mammal/Full Scale are all amazing rock/alternative bands. Psycroptic is one of the best tech-death bands I have ever heard, Five Star Prison Cell are amazing too. Lowrider are an amazing funk/soul band, Melodics are one of the best hip hop outfits in Australia.
For those who don't already get on Aussie music, there is a lot of great stuff that has grown really organically!
