Great Regardless of Genre

After participating in another thread I realized that there are many GREAT bass players out there that many of us may not know of due to genre. If you care to, post some possible unsung heros and a clip or two of them playing.

I mentioned Sean Malone in another thread and will start with him...

I always like to bring up Leigh Gorman of Bow Wow Wow in these types of threads. TB has no shortage of those who idolize Flea, but Mr. Gorman is one of Flea's bass idols. People dismiss Bow Wow Wow as a one-hit band because of their popular cover of (a cover [Brian Poole & the Tremeloes] of) the Strangeloves' "I Want Candy"... Some people just write them off incorrectly as a plastic new wave band, which could hardly be more incorrect... They were very unique combination of specific influences, and Leigh Gorman's bass playing was second to none. He semeed to be a master of all techniques, fingerstyle, plectrum, slapping, fretless, never sounding repetitive or "wanky", always ultra-catchy, melodic, and interesting.

A couple of tracks I couldn't find that are also good examples of his playing versatility: "Quiver" and "King Kong"
