No matter how "mainstream" they are... American idiot is their best album.. To me that is... Although i dont listen to them much anymore...

He admited to "Choking Back" His bass lines for American Idiot to let the songs drive themselves. Before, he played melodic runs anywhere he could. That, to me, is a sign of a Great Bass Player. Knowing when to lay back and let the music flow. |

| | | | Yes Dirnt is a very good bassist.
Pop-punk sellouts or not, I still think Green Day is a good band.

a lot of TB'ers may not like it that much because it's not exactly a difficult bass part, but i bet you a lot of kids picked up the bass because of it |

I think most of Green Day's current fame can be put on his shoulders. I am a fan of the original Greenday (Dookie, Kerplunk era). Dirnt's playing reminds me a little bit of Mike Watt's. he stays in the pocket, but also brings bass out of the background at the same time. |

| | | | Pretty awesome elevator music. He's good for a pop/punk bassist, not much beyond that though. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
