I love his slap tone and then the fingerstyle is killing, burpy and smooth.
What's his name?

Nathan East and James Genus (two of the best) are listed on that disc. I skimmed through the clip and caught a quick glimps of the bassist, which seems to be Nathan on that cut.

Thanks.

That's 100% not Nathan East though.
1. That's a Fender Am Deluxe with Suhr electronics. Nathan has only played Yamaha's for over 20 years.

2. It's not James Genus.

3. It doesn't sound like either of those guys. This guy is MUCH more church, if you get what I mean. A deeper pocket.

You are right... took a closer look... not Nathan. I have no idea. He sounds good... he surely doesn't sound particularly unique. Dig it though!

You're right.

I actually posted this clip years ago and got a response as to who he is. He is a first call smooth jazz/adult r&b guy but like you said, nothing groundbreaking.

I love how his slap tone is full and super hi fi, and his fingerstyle is very burpy, but I never felt like he was not fulfilling the low end.
