Gambling, hookers, and overpriced PRS knockoffs with cheesy cosmetics, "special" pickups which are just rebadged and repainted, and nice flame maple tops attached to green pieces of mahogany or Holy Korina...
...Y'know, those things do go together pretty well.

The Rickenbacker room looked cool to me, but if it's by appointment only to go there. Sheesh.

The Rickenbacker room looked cool to me, but if it's by appointment only to go there. Sheesh. | Man, that guy's NUTS.
I spent alot of time on his site agape in HORROR that this racist bizzarro paranoid weirdo has a SUCCESSFUL business(this was years ago).
half naked chicks with guitars in their crotches, obvious prejudices against asian-made guitars in general. It's not nationalism even, as he likes original Floyd Rose bridges in guitars(made in Germany).
I might be able to get an appointment, as I'm of German-Norwiegen descent, and have no accent(save Minnesotan)...
Sorry for the rather harsh first post here, but saying this(more as a reminder than anythng else) is the reason I registered. If I was playing bass at a show and Saw Victor Wooten, I'd wave, say "Hey, Check this out; I SUCK!" Then I'd start playing TERRRIBLE chords with a pick(a song called Awesome, Satanists In Love, originally played in guitar). After the show I'd ask him if he had fun. Either way I'd have done my job.(long story)

While he denys it, as you read on, it becomes apparent he's very narrow minded about things.
He wants America to 'be on top.' What about working together with other nations? What about the fact that the Japanese Televisions that he demonises are far supirior to RCA, GE etc in both picture and build quality? What about the fact that imort cars tend to last longer than american?
Maybe if these things weren't true I wouldn't have an Ibanez guitar, Roland amp, and a Pioneer/Toshiba home theatre system.
Honestly, this guy's missing the fact that people in Japan need to eat too, and they have almost no natural resourses(save fish and mountains), so they need money to buy them. On the other hand, I'm going to be spending as much time in Japan as possible(not often as I'd like...), wishing I could move there...
He speaks of credibility as a nation like we have it any more. Most countries view us as bible thumping hillbillies/violent psychos. Plus, does it really matter?
As Victor himself once told a croud: "We need more love..."

That said, Adrian, congrats! Hearing what I've heard of your playing, I think VW would have grounds to be impressed with you!

Hey Adrian: PM or Email a price quote on a Lakland 44-02. The Dude said you might have them. Thanks.

That is so cool that Victor was there seeing you guys.. I don't care who it is.. If any great bass players were to watch me play I don't think I would be able to continue playing..

talk about pressure
If Vic showed up at one of my gigs, after asking him if he was lost, I'd whip out a little something something from one of my many show-stopping three note, 60bpm stealth solos ("sounded like the regular bassline to me, dude"), maybe the second movement from "The Brickhouse Suite"*
After the paramedics revived him, I'd take him out for pizza.
BTW Anthony Wellington is a local guy.
