Pete Townshend-POWER CHORDS, BABY!
Eric Clapton-i love how his face looks while he solos.
Jimmy Page-Violin Bows are as cool on bass as they are on guitars. and the theremin.
David Gilmour-i love his tones.
Ritchie Blackmore-can YOU smash a TV camera, 5 guitars, and a Marshall Amp while playing an awesome solo with only small breaks?

IMO, Mark Knopfler is way underappreciated and I don't understand why.

Jimmy Page
Ritchie Blackmore
Eric Clapton
Terry Kath
SRV
Hendrix
George Harrison

And then there is:

Les Paul and
Chet Atkins,

Who most of the above guys were influenced by, at least a little.

Ah yes. I forgot Mark Knopfler. Thank you. The guy is a Great. True genius there. I have an album he did with Chet Atkins. Knopfler can really play. And not just Rock. The guy can play any style and play it well.
