if you youtube "buckethead bass" you'll find soje videos 0f him slapping. there is actually a video of him fretting Les's bass while Les is slapping is, and Les fretting his guitar. .

Joe Satriani is a really good bassist. Listen to some of his stuff, like the Mystical Potatohead Groove Thing!

Dave Gilmour can actually play a decent bass. I'll probably get flamed for this, but he's probably a better technician at it than Roger Waters ever was.

Satriani and some of the others mentioned are just great musicians.
