I think it's funny the thread under this one is Adam Clayton's.

I like them both, they both have great tone(not just the equipment), and give the song plenty of breathing room, not unlike John Paul Jones.

i really like coldplay. Guy is a great "space" player. He knows how to let the song breathe and live. I really dig some of his stuff.

I got no time for coldplay! I like Keane on the other hand and they got no guitars on the case!

There are no memorable Coldplay basslines for me, maybe that's why he works well/is considered good with them, just keeps in the background letting Mr. Paltrow do his thing.

I really like Coldplay and I think Berryman's lines complement their song very nicely. His tone is good and some of his lines have very interesting little fills.

I think Guy Berryman has the perfect picked P-bass tone. That's just me. As far as memorable lines go, I think his best bass work was on Parachutes.

All IMHO of course.

Wrong - Keane DO have a bass player! The piano/keyboard player Tim Rice-Oxley records bass and synths and plays these on his laptop during shows while he rocks out on his keyboard. Cool hey.

Love Guy too! His lines rock! Especially Speed of Sound, Yellow, In My Place, Clocks. These songs have great basslines from the man! I agree with the above posters saying that he is a great "space" player.
