I've been following this guy on YouTube for a while. Never ceases to impress me.

Indeed

This guy is very good. I became addicted to many of his videos as well as to DavidSinRocks. They both play with energy and joy.

I kind of dislike him. Yet another contrived Youtube kiddie spamming Youtube with "EXt3me funk rock bass solo!!!! slappity slappity slap double thumb CHORD POW" videos. And no, I don't have any beef with DavidSin, that kid is the real deal.

This guy is nuts? Well...... I just watched a Ed Friedland video before this. Ed played a VERY inventive solo over a standard. THAT was nuts.

Pretty straightforward walking line. He seems quite impressed with himself.

I don't want to pee in anybody's cornflakes, but I agree that what he's playing is pretty straightforward - nothing special. His tone is atrocious too, IMO.

Now this guy is NUTS!

I think he is a good bassist but after watching him for a while you realise how boring the playing is... His metal, rock, etc etc baseline all sounded too similar.. Which is good for him as that means he have his sound but kinda boring after you subscribe for half a year. Used to follow him but unsuscribe recently.

Nuts?
Why nuts?
To my ear he just plucks real hard, choking all the tone out of his sound.

The first video posted...is...really pedestrian.

The 2nd video posted however, that dude is pretty slick.

Yea, definitely a great player no doubt, but I still like this better. All that and vocals too.

First kid absolutely nothing special

2nd guy is good, even though its a bit "licky". It's very obvious when he does his miller lick, his Wooten licks, and the a little bit of rage against the machine. But it's all very tight, and good sounding.
Will be more interesting when he finds his own voice.

Don't forget the RHCP. Those slides about 2/3 of the way in are certainly Marcus Miller inspired.

...still I wish every musician I played with had his timing.

Oh those wacky Japanese, what will they do next.

That's actually pretty normal compared to some of the television over there, it's pretty wild stuff.

It must take something pretty wild to break through the background noise there.

This guy is truly gifted with a bass though. Wish I could play like that.

It is easy, just put on a blindfold and buy the first things you grab from the young miss section at Goodwill.

It didn't have the same effect on me...

One thing to note, here: When there is advertising on a YouTube video, the video owner gets paid every time it's viewed.

Could this thread have been started merely to get this guy paid?

In no way, shape or form, was this about money. I like the guy's style, and I thought some TalkBassers would like him as well (Seems I was wrong, however). But this has nothing to do with money.
