Then some very nice bass'ism soloing that ensues.

I think his cat walking by (lower left) at 1:16 gives him mojo.

Nope, he is soloing over another bass line. Check it out again. When he is not playing there is another bassline.

Why do the bass sound so treble-ly?

I even click on the vids to the side and couldn't find any boom boom,,,why no boom boom,,,all I got was bing bing bbbbbing-a-bing....

He starts by laying down one loop that goes the whole time. I thought he put down a second small phrase, but that might have been the start of his soloing...then he sets another loop around 2:44 just before the phase/wah part.

That said, in the first minute or so, I also thought his fingerstyle sounded like popping -- certainly the product of both his technique and the bass's tone. I liked it and wish I could get that tone!

Definitely an impressive demonstration of that bass's range of tones!

i love how pronounced but refined the fodera high end is....not too brittle or sizzly in my mind. cool clip.
