...yeah, I almost asked "What his secret was" at a clinic back in '98 or so (it looked as though he had not aged since the '70s).
I did eventually ask this at his website...he said something like his genetics, his background, & clean living.

When I saw him play with Jazz is Dead in the 90s, I got to talk to him afterwards and I asked him why he often licked his fingertips between every few notes. He said that they get very dry when he plays. (I'd never seen anyone else do this) Now that I think back, it was probably rude of me to ask.

Amazing show, as I recall.
