Today (May 14, 2010) is Jack Bruce's 67th birthday. Happy birthday to the musician who made me want to play bass, and who made me want to play it well. Thanks for helping me understand that the traditional role of the bass has to be honored and fulfilled, but that doesn't mean we have to be limited to fulfilling it in the traditional manner.
