Hartke Bass Attack Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Question: i have a Hartke 4.5 cabinet and the LH1000 head. i'm looking to go much lighter, and was thinking of getting the Hartke Bass Attack pedal (or Eden WTDI) and a small cabinet to use as a monitor (and practice at home) and just go direct to front of house. Would the VXL work alone or would i need a power amp for the small cabinet?

Thanks in advance

You would need a power amp to drive any speaker unless its a powered monitor. The Bass Attack will only have a line level or instument level output. So as a preamp (I think) or D.I. it will be fine. Not being that familiar with the Hartke pedal I don't know if it has both output levels or only one. I messed around with one several years ago. I have a Sansamp and it has both levels and it can't drive a passive cabinet by itself.

Srxplayer is absolutely correct.

Get the Hartke Bass Attack and see if you like it. If you do, look at buying a "kickback" style amp. Hartke makes a few nice ones. The Kickback 15 could be used as an excellent practice amp, a good low volume/acoustic gig amp, a good recording amp, and a decent monitor. If you bring the Hartke Attack, go direct out to the board and bring your monitor mix to the Kickback. Great bang for the buck.

I use a beat up Behringer kickback combo for a monitor, practice amp, keyboard amp, and guitar amp. Same idea.
