This man does not get the credit he deserves. He's worked with a whole bunch of people. He was on two groundbreaking albums. He was on Bob Dylan's first electric album and Miles DAvis' ******* Brew album plus some great recordings with The Electric flag , The Doors , and on a few sites it says he played with hendrix but i cant find any info on it. As a 15 year old kid these days , its good to have people like him to listen to to guide me.

Harvey is awesome. A picture of him without a bass would just be wrong.

I've been diggin' Harvey since I saw the Electric Flag many (many) years ago. Then with Miles. He is proof good bass players don't need to be flashy, that laying down the groove is what it's all about. Another solid bass player not mentioned a lot is Carl Radle.

Oh yeah he's just awesome. Another non flashy great to me is Klaus Voormann, who along with Radle (and Leon Russell actually Leon's just an all around great musician) played the bass on Concert for Bangladesh.

They're hard to find. This is Mike Bloomfield and Harvey with The Electric Flag in 1968.

I learned a lot of stuff playing along to Harvey's lines on the Super Session LP when I started playing bass. One of my favorite bands of Harvey's was the Fabulous Rhinestones in the early 70's. Guitar World's Bass Guitar magazine did a article on him about six months ago, It's always great to see him still get some love 40 years into his career.

The liner of Electric Ladyland includes a shot of Hendrix and Harvey together on stage. I don't think Harvey ever recorded anything with Jimi.

God, I forgot about the Fabulous Rhinestones; must've seen them a 1/2 dozen times at the Whisky.

CArl Radle and Klaus Voormann are awesome too. I was amazed by how good Klaus was when I watched Concert For Bangladesh. Then Carl holds it down on a few tunes. To many good groovers go un-noticed. If anyone has any pics or info on any of these guys plz post them
