Has anybody heard of Ryan Owens?

He's the bassist for the Robbie Seay Band.

Best bassist I have ever heard from a CCM band in a while. At least the most prominent bass lines I've heard in songs.

Check out the album "Better Days" or the latest "Give Yourself Away".

Hey guys.....

Some strange info in my world:

It seems that American Idol is using one of our tunes "Rise" in their new commercials.

It may be a one time thing or it may be their new "theme song"

anyway, be on the look out for their new commercial and it will say "rise" by Robbie Seay Band" at the bottom when it gets to the end of the commercial!

We are all pretty excited!

thanks also for the kind words.

It's wierd...

Ryan's probably one of the guys that influences me the most. I just listen to his basslines, crack a smile, and say... "that's it." That, and the fact that RSB made me excited about CCM for the first time in years.

On a side note, I love my GS112 .

I was just talking about that cab today to my friend Brandin Stroy.

I sold the cab to him and he sold it to a guy in Dallas, we both want it back.

The thing about that cab is that it sounded amazing but was way to heavy to really move around.

It was like having your own high end bass PA!

That was a great cab but I am really enjoying an old Epifani 212 side by side cab that I picked up a few months ago. It is a great in between cab.

I have basically 2 rigs:
Big:
Aguilar DB680 pre into DB720 power amp OR DB 750
into Aguilar DB810 cab

Sounds amazing, makes me smile when I stand in front of it etc...

Small:
Walter Woods into Epifani UL112 or 212NYC

Sounds amazing, makes me smile when I have to pick it up

All that to say, I do miss the Anthony Jackson cab I had because of its uniqueness and power handling but I am very lucky to have some great gear right now that I just love!

I need to do a big gear family portrait for a christmas card this year........ no that would not make my wife too happy!

Later
