Hey there. Really liked "Heart String Puppeteer". Keep up the good work.

Most of my stuff is built up from loops at the moment, but I'm looking to record some actual solo compositions soon. You can hear what I've done so far on myspace.

I listened to a few tunes. You remind me a lot of how I sounded when I was two years in as well You've got a good start to things- I'd really suggest getting a metronome and using it constantly to get your rhythm better. Also, if you're going to use different techniques within a song (slap, tap, fingerstyle, etc.), you should work on integrating them better- right now on some of the tunes, it's like "okay, now's the slap part." Try playing a whole song using one technique first, and then figure out what parts would really benefit by using another. If there is an underlying composition, then no matter what techniques you use, it should still sound like the same song.

All of my solo bass stuff involves looping, but feel free to check it out on my YouTube or website links below.

Thanks guys

Smitty i used to live in texas my self! However i lived in Houston and it was a very long time ago. Really cool music. A video would be awesometo watch, i find it easier to understand a song if i see it played rather than just listening to it. Its cool to see both the process as well as hearing the end result.

And Bryan, thanks much for the reply as well. cant say ive listened to all your music ... there IS alot of it lol. I did however muc enjoy listening to "Up Too Late".

The song I think you may have been refering to, namely "Staring the Sun Down", actually started out as a drill i kept practicing and adding to to practice some right hand techniques. Ive posted recently yet another song, namely "Rebirth" which is all the same finger style (practicing using 3 fingers and thumb) but the primary focus is the music and not the technique. Its alot more melodic than my other music. I hope yo enjoy it if you findthe time to listen to it.

Good fortune to all of you
