I caught you with Hiromi in Charleston, WV a few months ago...you know, at the golf course in the middle of nowhere. Didn't meet you but had a terrific time seeing you play. Looking forward to your new record.

I'm really lucky to have the gig with Hiromi. She is Crazy and Amazing...
We tour so much and through the gig I have got to meet and play with some of my musical hero's. I feel like I never stop learning and growing with the band |

Welcome to TB - lovin the 1st CD and looking forward to your second. The new Hiromi CD is really excellent too, man you are on a roll
You have caused stir by daring to use your yamaha
I missed the Ronnies gig last week - I hope it went well.
Have fun and keep up the good work

| | | What's Up Pop Tart...
The Yamaha was an experiment
The Yamaha guy's wanted to make me a bass...
They are great guy's so why not, I just didn't want to sound like Patitucci. Great bass player and all but he is he and me is me.
Yamaha basses tend to sound like him.
So anyway I said I would love to try them out if I could keep my sound.
We are still working on a bass that will work for me and them, because why would they want me to sound like someone else too?
They are building a new one now which I should have soon, and we will see how that goes, I like the last one but it's a bit bright sounding and the string tension is to loose, But I have faith in them |

Fair comment - Yamys are great, but those Foderas has a very distinct sound. Maybe too many guys in funny hats playin' them now though
I am sure yamaha can come up with something special for you, I guess in the Hiromi Quaret you can go for a different tone with less sonic space, so to speak.
Anyway good luck with the new albums.
Regards
Mark

Sticking Fuze in the mix just blows the skillz level off the charts!
I'm honestly was back and forth on the new disc at first, I love Fuze's playing but it feels like he's grabbed your space at times. But it really grew on me.
I can't wait for your new disc.. I'll be watching for some clips |

| | | | The new Hiromi CD is a new concept for me (playing wise)
We were so used to playing as a trio. I wish we could record that CD now, But I think that's always the case, I love Fuze he brings even more energy to the stage and I think we needed an older head in the band.
I think touring and playing this new stuff has helped my playing in general now what I play has to be choice or I'm just overplaying. |

| | | Hi J-Raj. Thanks. It's fun to be on here, But i will visit time to time, Reading these comments are dangerous for many reasons, But I love to chat with fellow bass players, I guess I'll take the rough with the smooth.
The road is long so this will keep me amused |

They are ongoing with my Practice schedule. Should be finished them in a few months I hope, It's been a little buy lately. But defiantly a big priority for me. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
