In the meantime I have downloaded "Nam Nam" - I quite like it, even though I miss some vocals in this 14-minutes-piece. Reminds me of Simon Philips' album "Symbiosis". But yeah, very good bass action

Thread resurrection time!

Helmutt is one of the coolest and most unique bassists on this planet that doesn't get a lot of recognition.

I have Kraan's "Live '88" album and it gets frequent play. I LOVE his energetic and melodic lines, his unique tone and the songs themselves, melodic funky instrumental rock/funk/fusion stuff, similar in some ways to Jeff Beck's Blow By Blow or Wired era stuff but not being a clone. I don't mind the vocal tunes overly much (like "You're Right") it's just good fun music, perfect for a road trip on a long highway.

Nam Nam is a great tune, also check out "Dinner For Two", great little fiery bass/guitar duet, now expanded to include Mini-Moog in later versions.

BTW, anyone know what kind of bass he's playing? Never seen anything like it (it looks almost like a mutant Yamaha).
