This has been driving me crazy for such a long time that I've finally decided to start a thread and see if anyone can help me along. In my ongoing obsession with Mike Gordon and everything related to him I haven't been able to find out this bit of info! On wiki (ooh, yeah) it says that Mike has used Couch straps ( http://www.couchguitarstraps.com/ ), but they offer limited custom work.
I'm assuming it is a fully custom strap, but where was it created?
It's hard to find a photo from the back (I just found one!), but when I saw him I noticed that his strap is either non-adjustable or slightly adjustable, with a buckle instead of the loop, etc.
Here are some photo's of the front, one of the back:

That's what a good amount of the Red Monkey straps look like...I'm figuring he just did a custom build. El Dorado's are very nice, I bet if I sent any number of them the photos they would be able to at least make a close approximation to Mike's strap. Red Monkey seems to be the closest in stitching and color, however. Maybe he talked to them. I think I'll email them! Quote:

But it's actually a kick drum mic made to capture sub lows from a kick drum, never seen one used on a bass rig
But then again what do I know about bass speakers? |
