Based on what I've heard I'd say about two weeks.

I kid I kid.

Pretty sure I've never heard any Pete Wentz. In fact, were it not for his getting incessantly vilified on TB I probably wouldn't have a clue who he was. (I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be vilified, I just really don't know.)

However... I have seen a picture of Pete Wentz, and based on his appearance I'd guess he's still in his 20's.

So I say he's been playing bass for less than 30 years.

What do I win?

Like Sid Vicious, he doesn't actually play.

some pop bass player

doesn't play complicated lines, never plays solos and isn't into showing off

so he's either the most experienced player, knowing when to back down to improve the music

or he's really been playing for 2 weeks...

so the next question would be...is he improving the music and where can I hear him?

I'm going to take a wild guess since I first heard of them around 05 ... 7 years.

in my opinion he's not really improving music

and where can you hear him?

nowhere because his bass is drowned out by the same 4 power chords in all their albums

With that said, he has a steady gig and did marry Jessica Simpson's sister.

nah he just figured it out while playing

takes talent to just go up on stage and do it though

all jokes aside, he is making serious bank, and is "famous"
among 14 year old girls with relationship problems

never got the hatred towards successfull pop acts. He's probably not an accomplished musician, nor is making the music evolve... so what?
Fall out boys's music has brought pleasure to thousands of people and to me that is something way more meaningfull than beeing able to play technical stuff.

I don't read any "stars" newspaper (don't know what's the name for it in english), that may explain why he's not getting on my nerves. The only time I hear of him is when someone complains about him on talkbass ^^

PS: I actually don't like or listen to their music

Never heard of him until I read some bashing of him on TB.

And of course, he's never heard of me.
