Troy is totally a meat-and-potatoes player, but he does some pretty cool melodic stuff throughout Crack the Skye. I think his tone and playing are all about making the band sound good, which both do.

At least he's not just entirely following the guitars, all his slides and his slow pace of playing give the sound a pretty interesting dynamic. To be honest I'd find it much harder to sing over the way he plays then playing exactly the same notes with more picking involved.
