How can people here on TB accuse Wooten of being full of himself? From what I've seen, he has tons of lessons and explains all of his techniques fully. He seems really modest about what he does and always open for people to teach him new things. |

That is the last thing you would think about if you met him. I do think some of his spirituality philosophies are a little out there sometimes, but he's a nice and humble guy who deserves every bit of his success. |

I completely agree . I'm as much or more a fan of Vic's personality and attitude as I am his musical ability.
Just seems to be folks get their drawers in a bunch for one reason or another.
Later R .

The only bass players that seems full of himself is that Jeff Berlin character or Gene Simmons for vastly different reasons though. |

I've met and got to talk to Victor 3 times, twice after shows and at a clinic he had. He's probably the most humble person I've met in 55 years. When he talks to you, you have the feeling that at that moment in time you are the most important person in his universe.

So far Victor and Shawn Lane (RIP) have been the nicest and most down to earth "pro" musicians I've met. |

I personally just think hes approach to music is a little wacky for my tastes, and I dont enjoy most of the sounds he creates. I also think his strong spiritual connection to bass is a little funky, but I would not think that hes "full of himself"
I guess hes just a little more content with his life than most of us. Let him do his thing I guess.
What bothers me are the random kids I meet who talk about him NON STOP like hes some kind of GOD, only because he plays fast. |

I mean a guy with those chops and creativity playing in bands like Bela Fleck and doing gigs with big cats before he had to wear deodorant is enough to bloat anyone's ego but with all that under his belt he's still down to earth and very easy to talk to. That's a rare character trait in this day and age. I wish some other less talented professionals would try a little Victor Wooten kool-aid and learn to be a human being again.
