How does Matt Garrison have his bass set up ?.

I was lucky enough to see Matt play in London a week or so ago.

He seems to really play quite hard, lots of chords and strums etc.

I know he uses a 33" scale Fodera, so the string tension can't be too great, yet he manages to get such a great deep tone.
There doesn't seem to be loads of fret noise, or buzzing which you'd expect if his action was low.

So I was wondering about the set up of his bass, how high does he have the action ?.

I've had a chance to play one of Matt's basses on several occasions and his action is very very low.

Hi

Thanks, that's what I read somewhere else, it's pretty amazing then how he plays like he does, with no buzzing or anything.

ive been able to achieve the lowest action with the least amount of fretbuzz on my fodera than on any other bass ive played or owned.

I know this is kind of a dead thread, but another thing that might be related to his lack of string noise is his frets are pretty much the smallest you can get IIRC
