I'm sure that's part of it, but let's see how good you are when you have been playing something like.... 40 years!

so the years you have been playing make a difference? lets take an example. I love iron maiden, but if your statment is true then Steve Harris has not make progress, same applies for many bass players.

That really depends. I'm sure there is a pretty big curve between what Steve Harris is capable of doing and what he does on an Iron Maiden song. Harris' gallop is part of Maiden's signature. He be crazy to start throwing in new techniques, but that doesn't mean he hasn't learned any!

I, on the other hand, have been playing for close to 20 years and haven't shown much inprovement since I was 19!

notice how Abe is "listening " but the ๖ther guy is worry and needs to focus and and needs to see what is happening around... but Abe seems to just enjoy the music, he just needs to look the guitar player's face !!!...is this that we called "talent?

Being a very devout Christian, I am sure that Abraham Laboriel would be very quick to credit God, but it is also true that he has an extensive music education including a Berklee degree. Mr. Laboriel has put in the time needed to be a master of his craft.
