Anybody else ever want to burn their gear after seeing something? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYQhOXLY3ZU

I'm sure this is within reach for some of us,but not me,not yet. I'm good enough to admit it out loud, but I'm good, not exceptional, and I'll be the first to admit it. I love/hate seeing these things. I'm enthralled by the level of talent required to do this and look bored at the same time ,but it grinds me that I'm not there yet, after all the endless hours of practice.

One day...I hope

Link doesn't work. There's a comma instead of a period.

I'd say so. How does one develop that kind of speed/definition. I'm not a solid slapper.I understand the basic techniques, but they only come into play for 5-6 songs, and the riffs aren't very complex.

Here, watch this. It'll make you feel better.

Lots of guys have way more technical skill than Buddy, but Buddy can lay down funkier lines in his sleep. The funk isn't about being fast or accurate, or double-thumbing... it's about making people's butts shake and lips pucker.

Wow, although I'd rather see his entire right hand instead of the headstock (or what is one foot above his head)!

This guy reminds me of Uriah Duffy, chops for days but can lay it down!! Love it! This is the bassist that I want to be -- the bassist that I will be

Glad to hear someone else reference Duffy - that guy is a MONSTER and way underrated.

Yeah, thats more my skill level... I like the rythm w/mute taps, little noodles on the fours thing, but I would REALLY like to pull off those crazy triples/quads,and pull them off with such articulation(and good taste). Well,practice,practice,practice...
