I think the main part of his sound is picking near the bridge... oh yeah, and playing really fast. I think a very very very light chorus would help too. I don't know his rig.

Are you sure? I mean, I'm not saying your wrong because I've never seen him in action, but his motions and his tone have a pick suggestion to them. Regardless of his means, he is certainly near the bridge. Other than that, I find him tonally generic (opinion), his sound is more a sound of technique than of expensive gear (to my ears). And that I appreciate. He cuts through as a "low mids" bassist, the guitars are mostly high end in that band, giving him a lot of room to fill up, that's why he cuts through so well.
