So a few years ago my Bass teacher threw me a tapping exercise and I have been playing it ever since and developing it thinking it will never really have a place in any of my pieces so I've thrown it in a few solos and normally at the end of a piece I might throw in a chord... So maybe a GM+9. So G, D, A, B and let it ring. Sounds cool and makes me look like a better bassist.
The other day I stumbled upon this bloke...
Solo bass and vox... It is amazing. http://www.myspace.com/sethhoran http://www.reverbnation.com/sethhoran/
And especially these 2 on Youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTK3QzYpBTY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB8R1dxRh8U
So I was after any help I could get from you guys out there on recreating stuff like this. A chord chart or 2 would work wonders but any advice on technique development or even similar artists would be great.
Cheers. |

I like the recorded version with the guitar and drums a little better though.

I really respect his talent and creativity. But I have to wonder if he wouldn't sound better playing a guitar or a piano. Ofcourse, that's not as unique so he might not have been as successful. |
