I swear it looks like a 6" sub in a combo, maybe an 8 or a 10. But still it's being recorded on the street with an open air video camera and it sounds like a studio recording, I think something may have been doctored here.

It doesn't look or sound doctored to me. I believe that he simply does not use a lot of high mid-range like a lot of today's bassists. It sounds as though he has his low mids about half-way up, high-mids on about 2, treble around 4 or 5, and bass setting is up to about 7 or 8. You will be surprised how much of a true bass sound you will get when you dial out a lot of high-mids.

Just my humble opinion, and tone deaf ears.

Sounds real to me. There is very little low end on the recording, which is what usually distorts those video camera's and makes them sound horrible. This mid honkiness, low volume, and thin-ness of the tone actually works in the recordings favor.

Remember, many small amps sound just like big amps when played at a very low volume, especially in you have a mostly midrange tone like that very excellent player.

Having the amp on the cement walk and right up against the wall also results in a natural 'fattening' of that small amp.

IMO.
