I would go with...

Sir Paul McCartney
Justin Chancellor
Tal Wikenfeld

If I could add a dead person it would be Domenico Dragonetti on the DB.

The cool thing about the first one is that they were all from totally different schools of guitar as well as from different era's.

So...

John Paul Jones
Geddy Lee
Flea

This is the direction they'd need to go in.

I just wanted to put Jack White's Whammy IV as one of the 3 bassists lol

I want to see the camera follow it around as it comments on people walking by, and perhaps going back to the factory where it was made.

I think flea would be in it mainly cause he's one of the biggest names in the world for bassists. But him, geddy, and geezer, or stev harris, or marcus miller would be really interesting. Something tells me putting mr. Wooten in ths would be really one sided... in like a "i wrote this song this way because..." and wooten would be like "watch this..." lol
no offense to him, i just see it as a song-based kind of get together.

I'd like to see Geezer, Geddy, and Flea, simply because they're some of my favorites and still encompass different styles. If I really wanted to stick to the theme of covering as many styles in one swoop as possible, though, probably Sir Paul, Larry Graham, and Steve Harris, maybe replacing Graham with Geddy if they want to stick to a rock group.

Flea should definitely be there, since he's a lot like Jack White in that he's nowhere near the level that the other two musicians are and is there to primarily get more people to see the movie. As for the other two, I'd go with Geddy Lee and Stanley Clarke.

Part of the idea of the first one was to have three musicians from different generations. Most of you haven't named anyone under the age of 45.

My own picks, commercial preferences be damned:

Larry Graham
Mike Watt
Julie Slick
